CHILDREN MINISTRY
At FUMC, we cherish the joy, wonder, and holy energy that children bring into our church family. Their laughter fills our halls with life, and their curiosity reminds us of the beauty of a faith that is growing and open. Jesus invites us to welcome the little children with open arms and to see their trust, honesty, and enthusiasm as a model for our own walk with God. When we nurture children, we are not only shaping their faith - we are allowing their faith to shape us, calling us back to the simple, joyful, wholehearted love that Jesus celebrates.
Sunday Mornings
The Nursery serves children ages birth-3 years of age, so parents can rest easy during Sunday School and Worship.
Sunday School is a fun time for children in PreK-4 through 5th grade to grow in their faith through engaging Bible-related activities, small group connections, and prayer. Faith formation activities are age appropriate and designed to help children grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Children's Church is a time for children experience age-appropriate worship through Bible stories and exciting worship songs while their parents worship in The Sanctuary.

Rooted Kids
Children Pre‑K through 5th grade are invited to join us on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, August-October, 2025 from 5:30–6:30pm at The Table for our new discipleship program: ROOTED Kids.
Inspired by the Mustard Seed parable (Matthew 13:31–32), ROOTED Kids helps children grow strong in faith—one small seed at a time.

Theme: Trusting God When We Are Afraid*

- Wednesday, August 12: David & Goliath - God helps us face giant challenges.
- Wednesday, August 19: Daniel in the Lions’ Den - We can trust God even when life feels scary. -
SEPTEMBER: Helping Hands Hero Certificate
Theme: Serving Others with Love
“Serve one another humbly in love." – Galatians 5:13
- Wednesday, September 9: Jesus Washes the Disciples’ Feet - Jesus shows us the importance of serving others.
- Wednesday, September 23: Dorcas (Tabitha) - We serve God by caring for people every day. -
OCTOBER: Light of the World Certificate
Theme: Sharing God’s Love with Others
“Let your light shine before others.” – Matthew 5:16
- Wednesday, October 14:** *Esther Shows Courage - God uses us to shine His light and help others.
- Wednesday, October 28: Philip & the Ethiopian - God calls us to share His love and Good News.
Children can earn certificates—whether by reciting the verse or sharing what the scripture means to them.
ROOTED Kids is designed for ALL children, including those with diverse learning needs. We celebrate that every child learns differently, and we honor each child’s unique way of growing in God’s love.
Our children are small seeds, growing strong roots, and living with BIG faith.
Parents/Guardians will need to sign children in and out each time they attend. If you have not yet completed the 2026 information and pickup authorization forms, you will be asked to fill it out when you arrive.
