Worship Without Walls
Worship Without Walls is an annual community service event that occurs in place of our usual worship service.
Worship Without Walls is an annual event at FUMC which encourages our congregation to reach beyond the walls of our church to help others in the community experience the love of Jesus. Worship Without Walls occurs in place of normal Sunday Worship to help reinforce the idea that we can worship in many different ways - not just through singing and sermons.
Worship Without Walls has occurred twice in April 2023 and April 2024, and we have had many requests to do this more than one time per year. We look forward to the opportunity to serve our community again in upcoming years and seasons.
This year during our Worship Without Walls event, we met in the Fellowship Hall for breakfast and prayer before splitting into our service groups. Participants had the option to serve in several ways: 1) Writing letters to our community, 2) Painting the windows at The Table, 3) Working in the Community Garden, and 4) Bringing communion and singing to our local nursing homes: NHC and Ivy Crest. We had about 75 participants overall.
